10 things to include in your new website development
Creating a website is no easy task, writing about your company and services is a lot harder than telling somebody about them, and what people always seem to forget is search engines cannot read images, they prefer text. Writing enough text is also a stumbling block for most companies so here are our top 10 things to remember when creating a website.

1: On the home page there should be intros to the content laid out on your website with quick buttons to get to the rest of the content if required, for example a short intro into the about us page with a call to action button linking to the about us page, this can be made up of a couple of paragraphs but there should be more text on the about us page regarding your company and services.
2: Also on the home page should be an intro into each service you provide linking to an individual service page for each service offered, you can also create a services page with intros into each service, this is to get maximum reach for your listed service, it is no good having one service page with a little text for each service, this should be an intro page only.
3: A gallery, if you have images of projects completed there are two ways to add them, one is add the best image of the project to a projects gallery, that way your potential clients can see your work first hand.
4: A projects portfolio, the second way is to add each project with all the images relating to that project, a short description (can also include date project completed, time taken to complete, client name, service offered) and most importantly the location of the project, this will aid in local searches (see our geo location blog here), our advice is to add both, a gallery and a projects portfolio, it might take a bit to manage but it guarantees your potential clients will see your work, no matter whether they would rather see it or read about it.
5: Testimonials, potential clients are always eager to read comments made by other clients, good feedback displayed on your website can be the deciding factor when it comes to contacting you about your services or products.
6: Comply to GDPR, these things are pretty self-explanatory now, a cookie policy, a privacy policy and an SSL certificate to guarantee all data sent to you by means of forms or queries are sent securely (this can be seen as a lock when visiting your website near the address bar).
7: Address displayed on the website, if you do not have an address displayed on your website you will miss local searches performed by potential clients in your local area, always put an address even if it is just a point of contact (your home address), usually this is where the registered office of the company is.
8: Contact form on the website, if you have a contact form on your website this saves people time opening up their email program, copying and pasting your email address in and writing out an email, the boxes can be formatted for the information you require, e.g. name, address, telephone number, email, message, always put a “I give permission for COMPANY to call/email me using the information provided “ checkbox on the website, again this is for GDPR, always adhere to this.
9: News, updated news and relevant information can be used to inform potential clients of offers, new products or services, even a more in depth look at individual services, try to answer real world questions as these get the most traction (see our blog here).
10: Existing client logos or accreditations & affiliates, if you have accreditations, show them on your website, if you have affiliates or useful links to relevant information, display them, if you provide services to other companies, show the logos of those companies, this again could be the difference between someone contacting you or not regarding your services.
Here at in2pcs we always build websites with SEO in mind, organic growth (see our blog here) is the best way forward, a page full of images alone will not do your company justice so remember, if using us or another company to develop your new website these are 10 things to keep in mind and request if not offered by your chosen development company.
